Taras Shalay

Associate Managing Director

Taras Shalay is the Associate Managing Director of the Burns & Wilcox offices in Farmington Hills, downtown Detroit, and Grand rapids.

He has a unique perspective in the insurance industry having wholesale, retail, and carrier experience in almost twenty years. Taras was previously with Burns & Wilcox from 2012 to 2017, and is now rejoining the professional liability team he helped to build.

Taras has taught over 200 CE classes ranging in topics from Cyber Liability, Management Liability, and Errors & Omissions. He started his career as a Cyber Liability underwriter for Philadelphia Insurance in 2007, directly after finishing his Masters in Economics at WMU.
