Higgins to Lead Largest Portfolio of Business Across Burns & Wilcox North America Following More than Three Decades at Travelers
FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. (JUNE 11, 2025) — Burns & Wilcox, a globally recognized leader in wholesale insurance brokerage and underwriting, today announced the hiring of Scott Higgins as Executive Vice President, Commercial Insurance. Higgins will have responsibility for the company’s Commercial business throughout North America and report into Burns & Wilcox President Danny Kaufman.

Higgins will serve as a member of the Burns & Wilcox executive team, working alongside H.W. Kaufman Group senior leaders and heads of Kaufman business units worldwide. He will be responsible for building a comprehensive strategy that further unlocks the full potential of the Burns & Wilcox Commercial portfolio, while supporting its teams to further maximize client and market relationships. Higgins will also deploy an aggressive recruiting effort, while identifying and pursuing acquisition targets that align with the Burns & Wilcox long-term vision.

Higgins previously spent his entire career at Travelers. For more than 30 years, he held a variety of roles leading multiple businesses and working in nearly every aspect of the company’s North American operations. Since 2016, Higgins served as President of Middle Market, National Property & Business Insurance Field Organization.
