Burns & Wilcox and Burns & Wilcox Brokerage Chicago Growth Sparks Move to New, Top Tier Office Space Downtown

Chicago, IL (September 18, 2019)— Burns & Wilcox, North America’s leading wholesale insurance broker and underwriting manager, announced today the relocation and expansion of its downtown Chicago office. The new office, which houses Burns & Wilcox and Burns & Wilcox Brokerage, is located downtown at 111 S. Wacker, Chicago, IL, 60606. Burns & Wilcox parent company H.W. Kaufman Group and its network of companies, including Stonemark, will also utilize the space, delivering seamless access to broader resources.

“The Burns & Wilcox Chicago office is one of our fastest-growing offices, experiencing significant personnel growth of 15 to 60 employees over the last five years,” said Danny Kaufman, Executive Vice President, H.W. Kaufman Group, Chief Operating Officer, Burns & Wilcox. “This strategic expansion strengthens our existing capabilities and provides clients enhanced access to the Brokerage team with expertise in some of the hardest-to-place risks.”

Designed by award-winning interior design collective Gary Lee Partners, the new office serves as a versatile meeting space for associates and groups. Various work spaces, including common areas, conference and phone rooms, will support continuing education, training and recruiting efforts, in addition to day-to-day business operations. Burns & Wilcox has operated in Chicago for approximately 40 years.

“Our goal with this expansion is to create a workspace that meets the needs of our associates as well as our retail brokers and agents,” said Bryant Steele, Associate Vice President, Managing Director, Burns & Wilcox, Chicago and Milwaukee. “The larger, enhanced space offers more efficiencies that encourage network collaboration and permits up to a 50 percent personnel growth, tying into our ongoing priority of recruiting and retaining top talent.”

Designed to accommodate the commuter community and offer more than the standard, essential amenities to the workforce, the Chicago office is within one block walking distance from Union Station, various ‘L’ stops and other public transit options. Associates also have access to many of the building’s amenities such as free membership to its Fitness Formula Club and wellness and mother rooms, among others.

The office relocation is effective immediately.
