Taras Shalay Rejoins Burns & Wilcox as Associate Managing Director; Company Also Adds Expert Group of Professional Liability and Commercial Brokers
FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. (AUGUST 14, 2025) — Burns & Wilcox, a globally recognized leader in wholesale insurance brokerage and distribution, today announced the company has bolstered its Michigan office with the hiring of Taras Shalay as Associate Managing Director and a new team of Professional Liability and Commercial brokers.
Shalay’s experience spans nearly 20 years in a variety of specialty insurance leadership and professional liability roles. Most recently he served as the Senior Vice President for the Midwest region at Jencap. Shalay will report to Managing Director, Brett Faustman. Earlier in his career, Shalay spent five years at Burns & Wilcox, helping to lead the growth of the company’s Professional Liability Practice. He is an expert in D&O, E&O, EPLI and Cyber & Privacy Liability insurance products.
Joining Shalay is a new team of Professional Liability and Commercial brokers who will service clients across Michigan, while working alongside their Burns & Wilcox colleagues throughout the Midwest. The new team includes:

- Andre Bridges, Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter
- Maria Rojo, Senior Associate Broker
