FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. (JUNE 5, 2025) — Burns & Wilcox, a globally recognized leader in wholesale insurance brokerage, underwriting and distribution, today announced the promotion of Bill Gatewood to Executive Vice President, Personal Insurance, effective July 1.

Under Gatewood’s leadership, the Burns & Wilcox Personal Insurance Practice has grown annually by double-digits and more than 500% in total. In 2024, Burns & Wilcox grew its Personal Insurance business by more than 30%.
Gatewood and his team have been recognized for developing best-in-class products in areas such as Private Client and Flood Insurance, along with launching the first homeowners wildfire protection partnership in the E&S marketplace. Recently, they introduced a new High Value Homeowners product that uniquely targets CAT-prone areas.
Beyond Personal Insurance, Gatewood has also taken on additional responsibilities in working cross functionally to advance Kaufman’s industry leading technology strategy and deploy the company’s proprietary digital platform.
Gatewood’s insurance career spans 30 years. A U.S. Army veteran, he is a past recipient of the H.W. Kaufman Memorial Award, the company’s highest honor.
